Dear all,
It's good to see the growing list in here :)
In regard to the electricity, I called the lawyer's office A.B Sidek and one of the lawyer answered my phone call. The story goes like this :
When I explained about the absence of electricity in my unit, he mentioned the onus is actually on TNB. Somehow, TNB is very slow with the meter installation. In normal case, the purchaser should apply for the electricity with TNB themselves. But the developer (Kelana Sentral) took the responsibility to apply it on our behalf. Right now, both the developer and lawyer are pressing the issue hard with TNB to get it done quickly.
According to the S&P, the once the unit has been handed over to the buyer, it does not mean the water & electricity is ready. It just mean that the connection points are ready. The availability of water and electricity are due within 3 months after the key being handed over.
When I pressed about why those units that are rented out to Unitar students are ready much earlier, he said the application most probably were submitted before the CF was issued, hence the early connection (same to other units). He couldn't explain on what basis the selection of the units. As for other units, the developer already submitted the application to TNB. But again, the problem is the TNB (Which I also couldn't fathom what's the problem with TNB. I wish I could buy my own meter and ask them just to install it)
As for now, 72 units have moved in to the units.
Lastly, I asked the lawyer to convey the message to the developer to have more proactive/knowledgeable staff. Its bad enough to have us being passed around like a ball while our issues are not being addressed. We're going to deal with the them at least monthly to pay our monthly maintenance fees. The last thing we want to see are sour faces. But again, what can we expect from our Malaysian Truly Asian fellow?
